What is coaching?

John Whitmore, author of Coaching for Performance, defines coaching as follows: “Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”

This type of coaching is facilitator-led coaching which acknowledges that a coach cannot solve the client’s problem but they can ask powerful questions that can increase the client’s awareness and thereby help them come up with their own ways of solving problems and reaching goals.

What is our coaching like?

While a lot of coaching focusses on what to do, we help clients develop themselves as people in our coaching. So instead of only asking “What are you going to do differently?” We also ask “What kind of qualities do you need to achieve this outcome?” In other words, we go two steps back to help clients achieve outcomes which are rock solid.

We believe that the driving force behind a person's actions is the mindset. Ignoring the mindset and purely focusing on actions is like swimming against the current. We work with the observables as well as the hidden. The result is aligned actions and focused energy towards what the client wants to achieve.

What Others Say

“Hi Pete
Thank you very much for last Thurs and yesterday. I feel very inspired. Today is the first day I have got up and felt like facing the world!”

"Elaine is a fantastic coach who helped me break through my self-limiting belief that “I wasn’t good enough”. Her wonderful, kind and calm manner put me at ease straight away. She was so intuitive and figured out the problem before I’d even realised what was causing me to feel the way I did. She reframed my issues so I could start seeing myself in a more positive light. I cannot recommend Elaine highly enough as a coach."
